Polyflor add Seven new designs added to Forest fx

Commercial flooring specialist Polyflor has reinvigorated its Forest fx heterogeneous range by adding seven, design-led wood effect finishes.

Along with the seven most popular existing designs, new finishes such as Stained Maple and French Walnut all contribute to a varied and authentic wood palette.

“Forest fx has been a huge success but we have developed a number of new, quality wood decorations and we wanted to offer customers the best of the previous range along with our fresh, exciting new designs,” explains marketing manager Simon James.

“Excellent durability and maintenance benefits mean this new range is able to provide a high quality, environmentally friendly and realistic wood finish for heavy commercial installations. We also hold large volumes of stock for excellent availability.”

Forest fx features Polyflor’s class-leading cross linked and UV cured polyurethane reinforcement (PUR), which protects the floor during installation and handover and facilitates a polish-free maintenance regime.

The range achieves BRE A+ certification for major use areas (ENP 415) based on a life cycle analysis approach over a building life of 60 years and is 100% recyclable. Forest fx is suitable for recycling through the Recofloor Vinyl Take-Back Scheme*.

Polyflor Hydro Evolve - a clear step forward

Polyflor has once again raised the bar in heavy-duty safety vinyl flooring by launching Polysafe Hydro Evolve, a highly decorative, raised emboss floorcovering designed to combat slip risk in continually wet and barefoot areas.

Eight attractive, multi-colour chip decorations define this new range and feature a subtle blend of slip resistant aggregates that co-ordinate to the base colour for a much cleaner and clearer decoration.

“Our customers can be assured they are getting all the tried and tested slip resistance, maintenance and durability benefits inherent to our existing Polysafe Hydro range - but in a much more aesthetically striking package,” explains Simon James, Polyflor’s marketing manager.

“The eight new aqueous colours are a step forward from the traditional use of carborundum to create a more visually appealing, yet equally slip resistant surface.”

With its special textured “pimple” emboss, Polysafe Hydro Evolve is ideal for continually wet/barefoot areas within commercial and recreational settings such as walk-in showers, indoor pool surrounds, changing rooms, wet rooms and hydrotherapy areas. Suitability is also extended to bathroom areas in social housing new builds and refurbishments.

Hydro Evolve meets HSE and UK Slip Group Guidelines to deliver sustained slip resistance throughout the guaranteed life of the product, achieving 36+ on the RRL Pendulum wet test with a surface roughness of 20 microns and above. It also adheres to EN 13845 – the European standard for safety flooring.

The product is highly flexible for easy fitting, welding and site-formed coving while all eight shades have been referenced using NCS, a valuable tool for architects and designers that can make the overall colour specification for a project easier and more accurate.

The collection is 100% recyclable, contains recycled content and achieves a generic BRE A+ environmental rating for safety flooring. The range can also be recycled through the Recofloor Vinyl Take-Back Scheme.

Mapei Release Mapelastic in new 16kg Kit

Mapei Release Mapelastic in new 16kg Kit

Mapei Release Mapelastic in new 16kg Kit

Mapelastic, the world’s number one Waterproofing Membrane, is now available in a 16kg kit contained within a tub.
Used extensively over the last ten years, Mapelastic has proven to be one of the most popular waterproofing products available as during 2010 alone an estimated 15 million m2 was covered using the product.

Mapelastic is the preferred choice for many professional contractors, however with the introduction of the new reduced sized 16kg kit, this system is ideal for use on smaller projects for both professional users and competent DIY installers where a more ‘robust’ waterproofing system is required.

Mapelastic is based on cementitious binders, fine-grained selected aggregates, special additives and synthetic polymer dispersions, blended according to a formula developed in MAPEI’s own research laboratories. The flexible cement mortar is ideal for waterproofing and the protection of concrete structures, renders and cementitious screeds.
The new 16kg kit comprises of 2 X 6kg Part A powder components and a 4kg Part B bottle of liquid, all contained in a handy mixing bucket!

When the two components are mixed together, a free-flowing mix is obtained and once applied forms a proprietary waterproof coating providing a true waterproof tank.
Mapelastic has excellent bonding properties to a wide variety of substrates including concrete, masonry, wood, ceramic and marble surfaces. The kit is ideal for waterproofing bathrooms, showers, balconies, terraces, swimming pools, etc. before laying ceramic tile finishes. In addition to waterproofing of plasterboard, render or cementitious surfaces, lightweight cement blocks and WBP or exterior grade plywood.
Mapelastic continues to be available in 32kg kits for larger projects including leisure complexes, screeds, concrete substrates and pillars, even dams and viaducts.
Once cured, it is resistant to the chemical attack of de- icing salts, sulphates, chlorides and carbon dioxide as well as being UV resistant. This applies in areas located with particularly demanding climatic conditions, for example, in coastal areas with a saline-rich atmosphere or contact with seawater and in industrial areas where the air is particularly polluted. With Mapelastic, it is ensured that the structure is protected and waterproofed and will have a long service life.
